Embark on a 19-day polar expedition unveiling Antarctica Peninsula and South Georgia

PONANT brings you a 17 to 18 day itinerary between South America and the Antarctic Peninsula. An exceptional polar expedition cruise to discover the most beautiful sites of these southern lands, renowned as the “Empire of King Penguins,” home to the world’s second-largest penguin species.
You will set sail from the fascinating city of Ushuaia, which the Argentinians call El fin del mundo (the end of the world). The ship leave Ushuaia for South Georgia. It is there, amid the snow-covered mountains, that Sir Ernest Shackleton miraculously ran aground during the famous Endurance Odyssey in 1916, before returning to rescue the rest of his crew, left behind on the remote Elephant Island.
Arrive in South Georgia, and witness its impressive glaciers and its black-sand beaches where large colonies of king penguins have taken up residence.
